An experiment in facial recognition technology and education is happening in a primary school in central China.
On Tuesday, a school in Hubei Province scanned each of their student's faces. The scans will be used to assess and analyze a student's performance in class including attention, responsiveness and interaction with teachers.

The experiment is meant to generate test reports through big data as well as track and manage the behaviors of teachers and students. The data can then be used to diagnose issues, drive classroom activities and provide a more accurate look of assessments.
The system will also automatically generate classroom attention scatter plots every six seconds that records the classroom's attention distribution. It also analyzes the data and provides recommendations to teachers.
