Centenary of May Fourth Movement: President Xi delivers commemoration speech, calls on Chinese youth to shoulder responsibilities of times

President Xi Jinping has called on China's young people to continue working towards national rejuvenation. He made the remarks in a speech, which marked the centenary of the May Fourth Movement, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. CGTN'S Hou Na reports from there.
With vision and hope, President Xi has told the over three thousand people in his audience his interpretations of the May Fourth Movement in the new era.
He said Chinese youth of the new era should bear responsibilities of the times.
XI JINPING CHINESE PRESIDENT AND THE GENERAL SECRETARY OF THE CPC CENTRAL COMMITTEE "Young people today should shoulder the responsibility of the times. They should face obstacles fearlessly, forge ahead in waves, and open up a new area by clearing a path through the forest, and make achievements by overcoming difficulties."
Xi admitted there will definitely be daunting challenges, difficulties and obstacles in the new journey toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
But he said the May Fourth Movement spirit of perseverance is especially needed during the process, and the Chinese youth should always maintain their fine tradition of forging ahead.
