More on China-Japan economic and trade relations. Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan met Friday with Hiroshige Seko, Japan's minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. The two ministers discussed enhancing economic and trade ties and fighting unilateralism and protectionism. They also discussed improving regional and multilateral cooperation. Zhong said that economic and trade cooperation has become the propeller for China-Japan relations. Seko said that Japan hopes to work with China in innovation, and foster better communication between the two countries' enterprises. Seko also said that he hopes the two countries can play a leading role in the negotiations concerning regional economic partnerships.
