Chinese President Xi Jinping has welcomed his visiting Cameroonian counterpart Paul Biya in Beijing.
Xi thanked Biya for congratulatory messages on his being elected as President at China's recent top legislative sessions. Xi called for expanding trade ties and welcomed Cameroon to participate in China's Belt and Road Initiative, adding that China supports Cameroon in its industrialization and encourages Chinese companies to invest in the African country. Biya said China's policies towards Africa have been welcomed in the continent and that Cameroon has benefited from China's support in economic and social development. Biya also said Cameroon firmly supports the One China policy, and is willing to closely work with China under the framework of the UN. The two leaders also witnessed the signing of agreements, ranging from economic cooperation to infrastructure construction.
