China is carrying out a new campaign to monitor the population and habitat distribution of the endangered Yunnan snub-nosed monkey. The campaign, launched in late November, aims to collect the latest data on the number of such animals living southwest China's Yunnan Province and Tibet Autonomous Region. Researchers said a notable increase in the snub-nosed monkey population would likely to be found through this investigation as the country steps up its measures to protect the animal's living environment.
