The Syrian army is reportedly preparing to launch what was described as a "huge" operation against Douma -- the last rebel-held town in Eastern Ghouta. A pro-government newspaper says the operation will be cancelled if the Jaish al-Islam insurgent group hands over control of the area. The group, however, has said it will stay in Douma, where tens of thousands of civilians are sheltering. Meanwhile, rebels are leaving other parts of Eastern Ghouta in convoys. They are heading for insurgent-held areas in the northwest under withdrawal deals.
