The Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme has praised China's decisions on environmental matters. Eric Solheim said President Xi Jinping has made efforts to move China toward a green economy.

This frames peoples thinking and one of the most spectacular successes is in reducing pollution in all of China, in the business zones and its bay areas. With this we have seen pollution come down at remarkable speeds"
