The Hukou waterfall in northern China embraced the first rather modest snowfall of the winter on Thursday as local temperatures plunged to five degrees Celsius below zero.
Water from the Yellow River still rushed over the cliff and the small waterfalls on both sides froze over, creating a beautiful white world of snow, water and ice.

Located on the Yellow River at the intersection of northern China’s Shanxi Province and northwestern Shaanxi Province, the Hukou Waterfall is the world’s largest yellow waterfall and the second largest waterfall of any kind in China.
