Justin Bieber has spoken out to explain the reason behind the cancellation of the remaining dates of his "Purpose" world tour.
The Canadian pop singer posted an open letter on Instagram, saying "Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE...I want my career to be sustainable, but I also want my mind heart and soul to be sustainable."
The singer also explained that he wants to "be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be and the father I want to be."
In the letter, Bieber said "Learning and growing hasn't always been easy, but knowing I'm not alone has kept me going."

He also reflected on previous behavior that has sparked controversy in the past. 
"I have let my insecurities get the best of me at times, I let my broken relationship dictate the way I acted towards people and the way I treated them! I let bitterness, jealousy and fear run my life!!!"
Bieber was supposed to play a further 14 dates on his world tour but unexpectedly cancelled the remaining shows due to "unforeseen circumstances".
The 23-year-old star has played 150 dates around the world in the last 18 months.
