China vows to protect its overseas interests

The Chinese Foreign Ministry will strive to protect China's overseas interests in 2018, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday.
He made the remarks at a press conference on the sidelines of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress in Beijing, in response to questions on China's foreign policy and external relations.
The foreign ministry will make full use of its consular resources to help Chinese nationals and businesses overseas, Wang said, stressing that an important part of China's foreign policy is to contribute to the country's domestic development.
