Earlier we talked to David Leopold, the former president of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He talked about the immigration policies he says are needed, and shared his thoughts on how the presence of the migrants' caravan will affect relations between US and Mexico--which some argue are already strained.
DAVID LEOPOLD FORMER PRESIDENT, AMERICAN IMMIGRATION LAWYERS ASSOCIATION "I think what we need, ultimately, is a new administration. We aren't gonna get that for a couple of years. But what affects the relations between the United States and Mexico, is the President who started this campaign-- Trump-- by calling Mexicans rapists, murderers, and criminals, before he was even nominated by the republican party, and even of course before he was elected. When people are merely doing what the law allow them to do, refugees are allowed to ask for asylum."
