With China's digital economy accounting for one-third of its GDP, many industry leaders say there are still a lot of challenges ahead. CGTN's Wu Lei talked with some leading companies' presidents and chairman and has more.
LI JUN, PRESIDENT DAWNING INFORMATION CO., LTD. "One of the major hurdles for China's digital economic growth is the core technology. This includes high-end software, chips, and some chip equipment. There is a big gap between our technology and the most advanced ones. So in order to boost this, we need to invest more in our own research and development, but also seek global collaboration. I think this is a more objective and pragmatic approach."
CHEN TAO, EXECUTIVE PRESIDENT IFLYTEK CO., LTD. "We are now under the rapid transformation of building a digital society. One of our top challenges is the shortage of Artificial Intelligence talent and experts. Most importantly, some changes in higher education are needed. More professional AI courses should be introduced to university students."
GUO WEI, CHAIRMAN AND PRESIDENT DIGITAL CHINA GROUP CO., LTD. "Data security actually contains two layers. One is the perspective of data governance: who owns the data and how to protect their privacy. The other is how to prevent the data from being stolen or hacked. In fact, China is also studying how to make the best use of data based on security and innovation policies."
