The Israeli scored 27 goals during the campaign, one short of the CSL record held by former Guangzhou Evergrande striker Elkeson. In addition, Zahavi helped R&F finish fifth in the standings, just two points and little bit of help away from qualifying for next year’s AFC Champions League.

Meanwhile, Fabio Cannavaro accepted the trophy for Best Coach from former Czech star Pavel Nedved. The Italian bench boss helped Tianjin Quanjian finish third in the table, and reached the Champions League qualifying play-off for the first time ever.
In addition, SIPG's Wu Lei was named Best Domestic Striker. The 25-year-old netted 20 goals during the season, 11 more than the next Chinese player on the scoring chart, Gao Lin.
Wu's teammate Yan Junling was tabbed as Best Goalkeeper, with R&F's Huang Zhengyu selected as the Best U-23 Player.
