Chinese amputee's 'moving bricks' live stream goes viral

Accidentally lost his right arm eight years ago, 24-year-old youngster Tao Jinjin recently caught people’s attention on Chinese social media. With his mother helping broadcast him moving bricks, Tao Jinjin has attracted 794,000 followers since he started sharing his work and life online.
Jinjin was amputated in 2011. At the beginning, he felt depressed and rejected to accept the reality of losing his arm. However, after several months of denying and struggling, he finally pulled himself together and decided to feed himself by doing labor work at a construction site.

Many of Jinjin’s co-workers doubted if he could accomplish such loaded tasks under an imperfect physical condition. But with unimaginable efforts, Jinjin proved that they were wrong by overcoming numerous difficulties.
Triggered by curiosity, Jinjin then decided to go online and try broadcasting himself on live streaming applications. He first took live videos of him moving bricks just for fun. His live show turned out to be a success when lots of netizens started watching it.
Considering Jinjin’s safety, his parents were against him broadcasting at the construction site. However, they changed their mind and fully supported Jinjin now as the number of followers and viewers keeps growing.

“I’m here today because of netizens’ support,” Jinjin said to a local media.
Many netizens also expressed that Jinjin’s bravery and persistence inspired them to fight their own battles in real life.
“(He proves that) a man’s strength does not rely on his body, but on his mind,” commented @Jiangshang-feng on China’s Facebook-like social media Weibo.
“He’s way better than other live show presenters who catch people’s eyes by nudity,” @yizhiLGD comment.
