Following the earthquake, some Japanese politicians expressed their condolences, but openly used Taiwan's so-called "official titles". China has responded and urged Japan, to immediately correct the wrong move, and to avoid creating new disruptions within bilateral ties.
GENG SHUANG CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESPERSON "In the name of disaster relief, Japan, in an undisguised way, created 'One China, One Taiwan' in the international community, which violates the One-China Principle and commitments on the Taiwan issue. China is extremely dissatisfied with this move and has lodged solemn representations with Japan. We urge Japan to earnestly abide by the principles of the 'four political documents' between China and Japan, to correct the wrong move immediately, and to not create any new disruptions within bilateral relations."
