Germany Party Coalition: CDU chief Angela Merkel appeals to delegates to approve new coalition deal

German Chancellor and Christian Democrats Union party head Angela Merkel has appealed to her delegates to approve a new coalition deal. She addressed the members before the vote -- encouraging them to back a coalition agreement with the Social Democrats Party, which does not allow new taxes or new public debt. Merkel also underscored the need to rejuvenate the European Union.
