Yang Huanning, director of China's State Administration for Work Safety, has been removed from his position for "serious discipline violation," according to China's top disciplinary watchdog, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China.
Yang had "seriously violated political discipline and political rules, and on major issues had deviated from party principles," the watchdog said, adding that he had also used his position to seek personal benefit.
According to a short statement published by the watchdog, Yang has been removed from his job and demoted to a non-leadership position.
