Xi congratulates journalists association on 80th anniversary

Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter on Wednesday to the All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) on its 80th anniversary.
Xi said Chinese journalists should increase their confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
The ACJA was formed on November 8, 1937 and the date has been designated as China's Journalist Day. This Wednesday marks the country's 18th Journalist Day.
China has over 228,000 journalists holding valid press cards, according to a statement released Tuesday by China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT).
