PyeongChang Day 10: Gao Tingyu becomes first male Chinese to grab an Olympic medal in speed skating

After 10 full days of competition in PyeongChang, China bagged five silvers and two bronzes after Gao Tingyu grabbed a bronze medal in men's 500m speed skating - the first by a Chinese athlete in the category.

Meanwhile, in women's curling, China fell 10-4 to the US, and now have a 3-4 record after nine draws, and sit in the sixth position. Only the top four squads can make it to the playoffs. Their next match will be against the world champion rink from Canada.
It was the first time that Chinese athletes compete in two-man bobsleigh. Both teams of Li Chunjia & Wang Sidong and Jin Jian & Shi Hao failed to reach the final. Canada’s Justin Kripps and Alexander Kopacz won the gold, and Germany’s Francesco Friedrich and Johannes Lochner finished at second and third respectively.

Norway soared to their first-ever team ski jumping gold, finishing ahead of Germany and Poland to claim their 11th gold of the Games. It was Norway's second ski jumping title in South Korea after Maren Lundby won the women's normal hill individual event.

Norway now has 11 gold with 28 medals in total. Germany stays second with a total of 20 medals. Canada up to third with that triumph in freestyle skiing. The Netherlands has six gold medals, followed by the US with five.
