Last December, a TV show called "National Treasure" created a sensation across China and drew attention from far and wide. Now, its production team has brought the ideas behind the show to London and shared with an audience at the British Museum.
The forum at the British Museum last week brought together historians, TV producers, and cultural enthusiasts from both China and Britain. The discussions focused on the appreciation of historical heritage, cross-cultural exchanges, and the new media content production.
During a later seminar at the University of Westminster, the participants talked about the processes of planning and producing the stellar show. Both faculty and students voiced their appreciation for its production values and creative presentation.
"National Treasure" is the first of its kind in the country's TV history. The cultural variety show, dedicated to showcasing the stories behind China's priceless cultural relics, is a blend of variety show, documentary and drama.
Each episode showcases three treasures, each presented by a celebrity as the "guardian" who uncovers legends and mysteries surrounding them.
