China's military parade on Sunday was scheduled as part of a yearly plan and wasn't staged in connection with any surrounding situation, said China's Defense Ministry spokesperson Ren Guoqiang on Sunday.

A grand military parade marking the 90th founding anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) was held at the Zhurihe military training base in northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Sunday morning.
