US Tariffs on China: China's Ministry of Commerce responds to US plan to increase tariffs
[]
We start in Beijing, where China's Ministry of Commerce has held a press conference in response to the US' latest move that has increased trade frictions. The ministry said China does not want a trade war, but is not afraid of one, adding that the country is ready to protect its own interests.
It pointed out that the US has ignored China's improving intellectual property protection, and has violated World Trade Organization rules. US President Donald Trump announced Thursday the increase of tariffs on imports of Chinese products, and limiting Chinese investment in high tech industries in the US.
