Hong Kong 20 years on: A city of diversified culture
[]
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is both old and new, it's where the East meets the West, and it's a place full of opportunities and challenges.
Hong Kong is a city of immigrants with just a few original inhabitants. Most of them came from the mainland over the past hundred years. Against the odds, Hong Kong has grown its own culture of diversity and way of life.
In 1997, Hong Kong returned to China. But its autonomy and uniqueness remained. In the years since then, the city showed its best fighting an epidemic and financial crises.
Even today Hong Kong still serves as a bridge connecting the Chinese mainland with the world. But the link is not without tests.
