Syrian Conflict: Syrian rebels begin to leave last bastion in eastern Ghouta

Some of the rebel fighters near the Syrian capital have begun to leave their last bastion in eastern Ghouta. The evacuation involves militants from the rebel group Failaq al-Rahman who are now leaving the town of Douma on the eastern outskirts of Damascus. The group agreed last month to give up a string of towns in eastern Ghouta in exchange for safe passage to the insurgent-held province of Idlib in the north. The dominant rebel group in Douma is the Army of Islam. It agreed to a deal on Saturday to evacuate wounded civilians and fighters to Idlib.
