Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Monday it had lodged "solemn representations" with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) embassy in Beijing over its sixth and most powerful nuclear test.
The DPRK is clear about China's opposition to its nuclear tests, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told the media at a regular press conference, adding that China upholds talks as the means to resolve the Korean Peninsula issue.
The DPRK tested an advanced hydrogen bomb for a long-range missile on Sunday, prompting a vow of "massive" military response from the US if either Washington or its allies were threatened.
