A Chinese envoy exchanged views on the Korean Peninsula issue with officials from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) during his visit to Pyongyang, Xinhua News Agency reported on Monday.
Song Tao, who arrived in Pyongyang on Friday for a four-day visit, is a special envoy of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping and head of the CPC Central Committee's International Department.
During Song's visit, the ruling parties of China and the DPRK on Monday pledged to strengthen inter-party exchanges and coordination, and push forward relations between the two countries
Song also briefed the DPRK about the outcome of the recently concluded 19th CPC National Congress in Beijing.
The DPRK side congratulated the CPC on the successful convening of the congress and expressed hope that the Chinese people can obtain greater development results under the leadership of Xi and the CPC.
