[]
Turkey says 31 of its soldiers have been killed since it launched its offensive against Kurdish fighters in Syria last month. Another 143 Turkish troops have been wounded. Turkey says it's killed, captured or wounded more than 1,300 people it calls "terrorists". The massive assault began on January 20th against the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units, or the YPG, in the western region of Afrin. Ankara considers the group "terrorists" linked to Kurdish insurgents within Turkey.
