China Economy: High-tech industry spurs national economic growth

The technology industries have played a major role in China's economic growth in the first four months of 2018. The National Bureau of Statistics of China says the high-tech industries have developed rapidly, bringing a change in consumption patterns. Specifically, in the first quarter of 2018, mobile internet traffic almost doubled.
LIU AIHUA, SPOKESPERSON NATIONAL BUREAU OF STATISTICS OF CHINA "The high-tech industry grew by 11.8 percent. The production of green energy vehicles, integrated circuits and industrial robots grew by 82 percent, 14 percent and 35 percent, respectively. The supportive role of the high-tech industries in the economy has been further strengthened."
