Chinese kung fu, also known as wushu or Chinese martial arts, is one of the most well-known examples of traditional Chinese culture.
There are hundreds of differing fight styles that are classed as kung fu, which soared in popularity globally following a series of films featuring US-born and Hong Kong-raised actor Bruce Lee, who died in 1973.
For many, it is a form of self-defense or a way to keep fit.
For the self-described “lonely” kung fu master Yu Yang, it is a way of life.
CGTN reporter Han Bin talked to the kung fu master in Luoyang city, who said kung fu is not all about physical strength but is a way to seek one’s internal peace and harmony.
Yu has recently produced a kung fu show, which he believes could help his audience purify their body and spirit and find the meaning of life.
