US President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order to stop separations of undocumented immigrant families at the border. Trump's compromise came after intense pressure from religious groups, politicians and world leaders to halt the actions. Washington's "zero tolerance" immigration policy at the US-Mexican border has caused nearly 2,000 illegal immigrants families to be separated.
The US House of Representatives on Thursday will vote on immigration legislation. Two bills to end the separations have been introduced. However, with views split in the House, neither may pass. For more details, earlier we talked to our correspondent Owen Fairclough in Washington.
