A common public transport ticket will be available to all lines in the metropolitan axis of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei by the end of the year, officials have announced.
It is expected to make public transport more convenient and efficient for passengers and promote the integrated development of transportation in the cities of Beijing and Tianjin with the surrounding Hebei Province.
The Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport said on Thursday that ticket holders will be able to take all buses in downtown Beijing, certain lines in Tianjin and all lines in Hebei's Shijiazhuang, Cangzhou, Baoding, Handan, Zhangjiakou, Chengde and Langfang.

At the same time, they can enjoy the same preferential policies, such as discounts on a local transport card.
Besides, the ticket can be used in some other provinces, including east China's Jiangsu Province and Jilin Province in the northeast.

In 2015, the ticket card was first trialed on some routes. As the number of transport lines in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has increased significantly over the past several years, so has the demand for more convenient public transport.
By the end of September, more than 800,000 all-in-one tickets had been issued to passengers in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
