The perpetrator of Sunday’s church shooting in Texas has been identified as Devin Patrick Kelly, CNBC reported, citing a law enforcement officer.
The gunman opened fire with a rifle inside a church in the small South Texas community of Sutherland Springs, killing at least 26 people and wounding at least 20 others before being shot dead.
Kelley served in the US Air Force from 2010 before getting court martialed in 2012 for assault on his spouse and child, the Air Force spokeswoman Ann Stefanek said.
He was in jail for one year and given a dishonorable discharge in 2014, the spokeswoman said.
The motive for the mass shooting has not been released by police.
