Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi attended a meeting at the White House on Wednesday with US National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster and President Donald Trump's Senior Adviser Jared Kushner.
The meeting was intended to promote bilateral ties, with the two sides exchanging views on China-US relations as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
Besides for promoting the stable development of bilateral relations, they agreed to strengthen communication at all levels, expand cooperation, and to prepare for Trump's scheduled state visit to China later this year, which is being made at Chinese President Xi Jinping's invitation.

Yang met with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Tuesday. They also discussed issues pertaining to joint international and regional concerns.
