That meant, new bench boss Fabio Cannavero had yet to taste victory since returning to Evergrande as coach.

No goal. But Evergrande do get on the board soon after, Huang Bowen's strike from distance evades the keeper and it is 1-nil after 25 minutes.

Off to the second half, where we found out that Guangzhou have been outshot 3-1, but the CSL champs make their attempts count, as Alan is sent in and fires a shot low into the corner of the net to make it 2-1. The Brazilian is then mounted by Cannavero.
Things then get chippy as Li Yunqiu mauls Alan and is given a yellow card.

Back to the game, and the team in red adds to their total, Gao Lin getting the deftest touch on this shot/pass.
That makes it 3-1 in the 65th minute.
And then a Goulart penalty rounds out the scoring.
Evergrande beat Shenhua 4-1 to win the Super Cup, their third straight and fourth since 2012, while also handing Cannavero his first win since returning as manager.
