The 2019 China International Documentary Forum is underway in Beijing. Some highlights of the event have included the launch of "The Belt and Road Initiative Documentary Consortium" and "70 Years of New China", a global documentary partnership. CGTN's Su Yuting tells us more.

Documentaries have become an important medium for international communication. Producers, production agency representatives, and other experts gathered in Beijing for the 2019 China International Documentary Forum. They say the films have created strong momentum for more global cooperation.

The China Documentary Research Center has launched "The Belt and Road Initiative Documentary Consortium". They hope to create a platform for international cooperation in documentary production among countries along the routes of the Belt and Road, and elsewhere.

The second BRI forum will be held soon, and this year also marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. I think for global documentary partners, it's a good time and a great opportunity to cooperate together."

The "70 Years of New China – Global Documentary Partnership" was also launched during the forum.
