A visiting couple was celebrating their honeymoon in Nairobi, Kenya. They were staying in a manor where wild giraffes joined them for breakfast. As they sat down at their table, the giraffes stuck their heads through the window and ate some pellets the couple fed them.
The giraffe population has declined by 40% over the past 30 years, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council. There are 97,000 giraffes in the wild, which some scientists call a “silent extinction.” The number is down from the estimated 151,000 to 163,000 that existed in 1985, according to the council.
