4th ASEAN Literary Festival celebrates culture and literature

As ASEAN turns 50, Indonesia is hosting the fourth ASEAN Literary Festival in its capital Jakarta. The event focuses on promoting the achievements and works of Asian writers, intellectuals, artists and scholars.
CGTN correspondent Silkina Ahluwalia traveled to the city's historic Old Batavia Town, where crowds gathered for the ASEAN Literary Festival. This year’s theme, "Beyond Imagination", explores the importance of promoting creativity and freedom of expression.
ASEAN member countries share thousands of years of culture and history. And the core mission of the literary event aims to strengthen that relationship through literature. It's here that people can learn about what it means to be a part of a community that focuses on celebrating diversity.
