18 dead, 18 missing in NE China flash floods

At least 18 people died and 18 are missing following the flash floods in northeast China's Jilin Province, Xinhua reported on Monday.
The flood, caused by torrential rain in central and eastern Jilin Province from Thursday to Friday, forced the relocation of more than 114,000 people, according to provincial flood control authorities.
As of 10 a.m. on Monday, more than 32,360 staff members joined in the rescue operation, while 15 damaged bridges and 37 telecommunication bases have been repaired.
