After heavy rains in northern Chile this year, the Atacama Desert - the driest in the world - has turned into a land of colorful flowers, a rare phenomenon known as "flowering desert." Following heavy rain, the seeds of some 200 desert plants suddenly germinate, creating a blanket of color.
