South Africa's ruling ANC party has reportedly decided to sack Jacob Zuma as head of state. The decision was said to be made after a 13-hour marathon meeting of the party's top leadership. Zuma and his presumed successor, Cyril Ramaphosa, has had a face-to-face talk in the meeting. The ANC said it would hold a press briefing later on Tuesday to reveal the final results. Since Ramaphosa was elected party leader in December, Zuma has faced mounting calls to end his second term a year early. He is fighting the reinstatement of 783 counts of corruption, and a multi-billion dollars government arms deal in the late 1990s when he was deputy president.
