‍Twenty years after the epic "Titanic," Kate Winslet is reuniting with director James Cameron to star in four "Avatar" sequels.
"Kate and I have been looking for something to do together for 20 years, since our collaboration on Titanic, which was one of the most rewarding of my career. I can't wait to see her bring the character of Ronal to life," Cameron said in the statement announcing Winslet's participation.
The Academy Award-winning actress will play Ronal whose identity – whether as a human being or a Na'vi – is yet to be revealed.
Filming for the first of the four sequels kicked off in California last week. The returning stars include Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, CCH Pounder, and Stephen Lang.

"Avatar" grossed 1.34 billion yuan (201 million US dollars) at the Chinese box office in 2009, smashing China's all-time record, and the film is still the highest-grossing film of all time in worldwide box office with 2.8 billion dollars.
Cameron originally envisioned two sequels but expanded to four after talking to screenwriters and designers. He realized he had too much material for just two films.
The four sequels have been scheduled to open in theaters starting on December 18, 2020 for "Avatar 2" and December 17, 2021 for "Avatar 3." However, "Avatar 4" will not hit theaters until December 20, 2024 after a three-year break. "Avatar 5" will debut on December 19, 2025.
