The IOC was given reports on the next three Olympics, all slated for Asia - the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the 2022 Beijing Winter Games.
A statement said the IOC is satisfied with Beijing's preparation work, and emphasized the full support given by the government for the event. The IOC also recognized that Beijing will make full use of the 2008 Summer Olympics venues for the 2022 event.
As for the upcoming Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, IOC spokesperson Mark Adams says the organisation will "do their best" to ensure the DPRK's participation in the light of political tensions between the two sides.
Paris and LA seek bid to host 2024 Summer Olympics
Meanwhile, representatives from the Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2024 bid teams met with IOC President Thomas Bach on the eve of their final presentations, as they seek to host the 2024 events.
It's looking increasingly likely that a double award for the Games is the IOC's preferred solution - Paris organizers are keen to host in 2024, and it appears that the IOC may offer LA the 2028 Olympics.

"Regarding the double allocation of the Games for 2024 and 2028, if the IOC session gives the green light this will create a win, win, win situation for Los Angeles, Paris and Olympic movement," IOC President Thomas Bach said.
The 2024 Candidate City Briefing will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, with the decision on who will host the 2024 Olympics - and possibly the 2028 games as well - set to be made in Lima, Peru on September 13.
