For more on the proposal to amend the fugitive offenders law, CGTN's Zhu Dan spoke with Martin Liao, a barrister and member of Hong Kong's Executive Council. The council assists the chief executive in deciding policy.
1. As you've been involved in the amendment issue from the very beginning, please tell us how the decision-making process, including the consultation, the methods, scope, and the general procedure, is similar to or different from previous law amendments in Hong Kong?
