Major League Baseball: NFL's Russell Wilson joins Yankees spring training
[]
Earlier we showed you some of the Winter Olympians making their return home. In South Korea, there were a pair of athletes that made headlines for their ability to compete in more than one activity -- Ester Ledecka being one, she won gold in both skiing and snowboarding. And Tonga's flagbearer Pita Taufatofua -- a taekwondo competitor at the Summer Games, who participated at the Games as a cross-country skier.
Now, there is an American athlete looking to try his luck at another sport, as Russell Wilson, a Super Bowl winning quarterback with the Seattle Seahawks a few years back, would take to the diamond and practice with baseball's New York Yankees.
And there is Wilson, taking some grounders with the team in the exhibition season. Wilson was drafted into the majors in 2010, but chose to focus on his career as a footballer. This isn't the first time he has taken to the diamond as a pro, but realizes his chances of becoming a major leaguer are not good, but that doesn't mean he didn't enjoy his time with his the team he cheered for as a youngster.
RUSSELL WILSON SEATTLE SEAHAWKS QUARTERBACK "The thing I'm excited about the most is really learning, you know, about the Yankees and how they've won 27 world championships. You think about 27 world championships, what that takes, the mentality, there's something, there's an aroma around here that I've got to figure out and I can't wait to learn more about it and use that for my football career as well."
