M4.1 quake hits New Taipei city

A 4.1-magnitude earthquake hit New Taipei, the most populous city in Taiwan, on Wednesday, China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) has reported.
The tremor struck the city, located in the north of the island, at a depth of 129 kilometers at around 1:59 p.m. BJT, said the CENC.
According to Taiwan's meteorological authority, it was a 5.7-magnitude earthquake, with the epicenter recorded at a depth of 140 kilometers. 
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, but tremors were felt in Taipei, some 16 kilometers from New Taipei.
