Volkswagen unveiled on Monday a six-seat electric ride-share concept at the two-day TechCrunch's Disrupt Europe conference.
One of the world's largest car companies is marketing its Moia electric van as the first vehicle designed specifically for ride sharing.
The company is planning to start testing the service next year in Hamburg, allowing passengers to book rides using an app.
Another concept displayed at the conference was the Stark electric skateboard, and the innovation is in how the board is controlled. The Stark electric skateboard has a top speed of 32 km/h and a range of 19 kilometers per charge.
Rubbee's clip-on electric engine, which can turn any bike into an e-bike, was also shown at the conference. The little electric engine simply attaches to the back of a bike and a small motor-powered rubber train drives the bike wheel forward.
