China's Foreign Ministry is offering a different view to the US Vice President's claim that America's era of economic surrender is over. Beijing says it's open to negotiations to solve trade tensions.
HUA CHUNYING CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESPERSON "We should say the U.S. economic hegemony and coercion is over, rather than that US era of economic surrender has ended. The United States should understand that in the twenty-first Century, international Trade needs more rules than power. China has always obeyed the rules of global trade, and we have always advocated equality and mutual benefit, and settle the differences through dialogue. As a matter of fact, China and the United States have been negotiating. China is certain that it can safeguard its own interests. Now the ball is in the US's court, and we hope that the US will make a rational and prudent decision."
