The first round of the China-US Comprehensive Economic Dialogue (CED) kicked off on Wednesday in Washington DC.
The CED is one of four major dialogue mechanisms the two sides established in April, following a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
The CED aims to iron out kinks in China's business relationship with America. The two sides will exchange views on economic and trade issues of mutual concern during the dialogue.
Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross will co-chair the CED.
