Thousands of people queued up for a bite of a super large mooncake with a diameter of 1.4 meters during a gourmet event in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province on Friday.
Mooncakes are specialties traditionally reserved for the Full Moon of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar each year, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Stuffed with shredded coconut and fruits, the mooncake weighed 666 jin (333 kilograms), as six is a lucky number in China.
"Three chefs spent two days and two nights making the mooncake elaborately. The mooncake is big enough for over 1,000 people to eat," said the gourmet event sponsor.
People across China are holding activities to celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival that falls on October 4 in 2017.
