French and Qatari foreign ministers have held a press conference on the latest development of the ongoing diplomatic row in the region.
Jean-Yves Le Drian arrived in Qatar on Saturday kicking off a two-day tour in the Gulf in an attempt to solve the rift splitting the region. His trip to the tiny peninsula came after US Secretary of State concluded his Middle East tour on Thursday.
Le Drian asserted France’s support to Kuwait’s mediation in the diplomatic crisis.
On Friday, US President Donald Trump spoke with Saudi King Salman on the phone, stressing the need to block funding for terrorism.
Meanwhile, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said it's unfair to say Tillerson's tour to the region was a failure.
